Reporting to the Manager Technical Operations.
The Broadcast Logistics Supervisor is responsible for schedules, booking freelancers, performance reviews, managing leave and disciplinary matters.
•Manage broadcast logistics staff to ensure sections deliver high quality service to relevant departments.
•Book freelancers for the department and reconcile invoices ensuring that the information provided is accurate and corresponds to the bookings.
•Plan, develop and maintain the employee work schedules and leave for logistics and media room staff based on broadcast demands to ensure completion of workflows.
•Ensure efficiency and that timelines and deadlines are met in the department.
•Manage training and development of staff aligned to the strategy of the business and the budget
•Gathers news; disseminates information among all other production staff; advance planning for shows
•Reacts immediately to breaking news; serves as the primary newsgathering resource point person for coordinating productions
•Informed and up-to-date on news events and other events
•Prepare consolidated weekly shift reports detailing all the operational issues encountered during the broadcast.
•Manage and initiate disciplinary processes in line with the company’s disciplinary policy and procedure guidelines.
•Clear, consistent and real-time communication to ensure quality and delivery of broadcast
•Ensure that all operational aspects of the broadcast are correct and running smoothly
•Building strategic working relations with staff, support services and suppliers through regular meetings
Key Performance Indicators:
1.Data integrity control -- Obtain, check and refine information. Collate and submit reports, take action when instruction is given. Conduct document control spot-checks.
2.Functional planning and performance -- Monitor the implementation of remedial actions.
3.Risk Management -- Manage the Company’s risk exposure through identifying, implementing and maintenance of risk control measures to minimise the Company’s liability.
4.Policy development and ownership -- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of organisational standards, policies and procedures within span of control and monitor implementation to ensure full compliance.
5.Monitor compliance -- Monitor and ensure adherence to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures. Ensure remedial actions is implemented timeously to address non-conformances. Ensure effective and regular communication of new statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures to ensure full awareness amongst employees and contractors within area of control.
6.Communicating -- Providing information to staff, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person

Education: Matric or Diploma/Degree in Film and Television will be an added advantage
Languages: Business English
Experience: Minimum of 5 years television production experience
