Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager.
The purpose of this role is to ensure quality video and audio editing that is is line with the broadcast requirements.
•Printing to tape and insert editing
•Putting shots in order and duration of shots
•Selecting cutting points
•Doing own shot selection
•Selecting the required shots
•Transitions between shots
•Record and laying voice-overs
2.ANALYSIS AND CLASSIFICATION
Key Performance Indicators:
•When the final product is delivered on time meeting the production requirements.
•Displays knowledge of best practice broadcasting technological specifications at all times.
•Accurately interpret the script in line with the brief.
•Demonstrative creativity in approach and deliverables.

Education: Matric or Diploma in Editing from recognized Institution
Languages: Business English
Experience: Minimum 2 years relevant experience as video editor using linear and non-linear editing equipment.
Specific Professional Competencies:
•Knowledge of technical broadcast specifications i.e. video, chrominance, luminance, audio levels and quality
•Final Cut Pro Certified Editor
•Knowledge of Photoshop, Motion, Live Type, Soundtrack Pro, DVD Pro and Shake
•Understanding of broadcasting environment, role players, shot descriptions and the principles of esthetical video editing i.e. continuity, breathing, pace etc.
•An interest in news and current affairs
•Knowledge of Apple Mac OSX
•Ability to work in a digital environment
•Ability to work in a live and pre-record environment
•Ability to work independently
•Ability to work under pressure making deadlines
•Ability to work with Producer, crew and editorial staff
