Reporting to the Programme Editor.
The purpose of this role is to arrange suitable guests for in-studio appearances and live broadcasts, as well as to conduct research and propose relevant questions to enhance the broadcast.
•Maintain a well-rounded knowledgebase of current affairs and international news by digesting news regularly.
•Research and introduce new expect voices on channel.
•Provide detail research with a minimum of five suggested questions for anchors.
•Broaden contact base by developing networks with key stakeholders in the industry.
•Selecting relevant and appropriate guests for particular topics/issues.
•Liaise with visitors and other stakeholders via telephone and email correspondence by using excellent telephone and written etiquette.
•Maintain excellent relationships both internal to the business as well as fostering networks.
•Welcome and receive guests by ensuring receipt is prompt and professional at all times.Good understanding of newsroom operating systems to continuously update the database
3.PLANNING & CO-ORDINATING
•Able to comprehensinve introduction to topics and discussions
•Conduct pre-interviews to determine suitability of guests and their point of view.
•Present information packs to anchors.
Key Performance Indicators:
1.Ensure that the quality of the guests are of editorial standards by being able to demonstrate their knowledge and articulate their views concisely.
2.Source, secure and book a variety of guests as per the channels news requirements including but not limited to current affairs, South African political landscape.

4.Able to work under pressure in a demanding live newsroom environment
5.Ability to work in a breaking news evironment
|Industries||Broadcasting / Transmitting,Media|
Education: Diploma or Degree in Journalism and/or media studies
Experience: Minimum 3 years of television production experience.
Specific Professional Competencies:
•Thorough understanding of South African and global news and current affairs
•Good understanding of TV news productionResearch orientated
•Strong writing and communication skills
•Must be enthusiastic and deadline driven
•Strong organising and planning skills
•Articulate, well-presented and professional in approach
